This route is more than just a loop; it’s a constant companion in my training and feels like an old friend. I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve run it, but each time feels like a new experience, even though every kilometer has become second nature.
Starting right at my doorstep, it’s incredibly convenient, and with an exact 10-kilometer length, it’s the perfect distance to test my fitness and sharpen my form.
It’s an ideal route to gauge my performance and work on myself. Over time, I’ve memorized my split times, so I know exactly how fast I should be at each kilometer if I want to maintain my pace. This self-monitoring not only improves my sense of rhythm but also lets me track my progress.
The route isn’t easy by any means. The first two kilometers start with a steady uphill climb, challenging my legs right from the start. After a brief dip, the climb continues up to kilometer 5.5. These inclines require strength and good technique, and I’ve learned over time to handle them better while still saving energy for the remainder of the run. After reaching the top at kilometer 5.5, there’s a gentle descent where I can build up speed and make the most of the downhill stretch. However, the course doesn’t let me relax completely, as the last 500 meters feature another incline that tests my endurance one last time.
Beyond the physical aspect, the route has a lot to offer in terms of scenery. The course is varied and makes each run an experience. A large part of it goes through fields, offering beautiful nature views, while the mix of asphalt and paths through the fields adds a pleasant variety and lets me enjoy the quiet surroundings. The few sections on the road bring even more diversity and keep things interesting.
All in all, this 10-kilometer loop is the ideal training partner for me. It’s challenging, provides wonderful views, and always offers me a chance to check in on my fitness level and work on my performance.
